Hair Did it Go

10/17/2017

What is it and how does it work?

Basically, "Hair Did it Go?" is a hair retarding serum that works very similar to laser.

As everyone knows, laser hair removal works best when you have dark hair and light skin. Laser is not permeant hair removal, it decreases the amount of hair, which can come back with any hormonal changes such as pregnancy or menopause. It’s an easy affordable alternative to both laser and electrolysis .

Who is the ideal client for Hair Did it Go?

Anyone who does not want hair, is an ideal candidate! Hair Did it Go? works on all skin tones and on all hair types.

How soon will you see results?

The average time is 5-15 treatments for the best results. Be patient, you will start to really see results after the third treatment. If you have fine facial hair it goes away in about 5-6 applications. If you have coarse hair it will take longer. It will first become soft and then it will work like it does on non coarse hair. Once you start to see the decrease in hair growth, your wax appointments will be spaced out until there is enough hair to wax. Fine facial peach fuzz goes away quickly.

With PCOS clients, this is a tough one. There has been success in diminishing the amount of hair and it will cause some bald spots. But this is a hormonal issue and hair is hormonal. It will make it better but it’s an ongoing battle.

How to use Hair Did it Go?

It only works after waxing, period. Not after shaving. This incredible little enzyme comes in a special gel that keeps it unactivated until you mix it with the carrier fluid. The gel comes in a small tube and the fluid comes in a small bottle. You add the gel to the fluid, shake it up, it dissolves instantly. You apply it to the area waxed immediately after waxing. Apply the serum to freshly waxed skin, do not put on any other products. not even an after cleanse, you do not want to block the enzyme. You rub the serum in until it’s dry. Then you will be sent home with the remainder of the serum

You can use Hair Did it Go? on any part of the body. Most areas, lip, chin, under arms, and regular bikini, one vial will be moe than enough. Remember it only has a 72 hour life span once activated. It has a 2 year shelf life non activated.

So how long does this last?

Nothing is ever permanent. If you go through a hormonal change as in pregnancy or menopause, the hair may return, just like it returns with laser.

Hair Did it Go is available as an addon treatment after waxing.

Does Your Acne Get Worse When You Play Sports?

Have you ever noticed that you are getting acne wherever your skin is constantly rubbed on, like wearing a hat or helmet, or playing the violin?  You are a victim of Acne Mechanica.

Acne Mechanica is acne that is caused by skin friction, heat, pressure on the skin, or when skin isn’t exposed to the air. Sweaty, constantly rubbed skin can quickly break out in a bothersome rash that’s really acne.

The most common causes of Acne Mechanica include wearing:
  • A helmet with a chin strap
  • A tightly fitting hat for a long time
  • Any equipment or gear that requires using straps, such as a backpack
  • A musical instrument pushed against the skin for long periods (like a violin)
  • Shoulder pads
  • Tight, synthetic headbands
  • Tightly fitting clothing or bras

Who Gets Acne Mechanica?

Certain factors increase the risk of developing Acne Mechanica, making some people more likely to get it. Acne Mechanica is most likely to affect:
  • Teenagers and adults in their twenties, who already have a problem with acne.
  • Soldiers, especially young ones, who are stationed in hot, humid, tropical areas: They get Acne Mechanica because of the heavy equipment and weapons that they carry. Humidity itself can cause the pores to swell and contribute to acne.

Treatment and Prevention for Acne Mechanica.

You want to treat Acne Mechanica the same as any other acne – using the right products for the type of acne that you get – and, most importantly, using those products in the right way.

Preventing this acne from forming in the first place with the right products can keep it at bay.  Because this type of acne has clear causes, you can try to prevent acne mechanica by:
  • Taking a shower promptly after exercising or sweating — making sure that your skin is thoroughly cleansed.
  • Not wearing a hat, helmet, or headband for long periods of time.
  • If you do have to wear a helmet, try putting some petrolatum jelly on the areas that rub
  • Putting on a T-shirt — make sure it’s made of absorbent cotton and is clean — beneath a uniform to help soak up sweat and minimize skin friction.
  • Not wearing clothes that are too tight.

Let Radiant Skin and Body get you on a treatment program that will thwart Acne Mechanica!

What is Acne? Part 3

8/6/2017

As the oil and the dead skin cells build up, they put pressure on the cells surrounding the pore. With enough pressure, the sides of the pore rupture and the contents of the pore leak into the surrounding skin. Because this sebaceous material contains a lot of P. acnes bacteria, the surrounding skin now becomes infected, creating a red bump that we know as a pimple. The medical term for this red bump is an inflammatory papule.
Picture
This next drawing shows an inflammatory pustule, which is different from a pimple only in that it contains white blood cells. When the immune system fights off the P. acnes infection, white blood cells, which are soldiers of the immune system — pile up, creating pus in the pore.
Picture
Now another, deeper inflamed lesion can form called a nodule or cyst. It is a solid dome-shaped lesion that extends below the surface, deep into the layers of the skin. Scarring is common with nodules and can sometimes leave an impaction behind, which can flare again and again. When a group of pustules cluster together under the skin, they form a cyst. An acne cyst can appear similar to a nodule, but is pus-filled, and can have a diameter of 5mm or more across. They are usually very painful and scarring is common with cysts.

In Conclusion...

So you see, acne is primarily an inherited dead skin cell problem. Most acne, no matter what form it takes, starts with microcomedones. This means the solution lies in products that penetrate the pore and prevent dead skin cells from building up. That’s why your home care routine is so crucial — it’s all about preventing the microcomedones (the beginning of acne) from forming at all.  This is the best way to get rid of acne.
